Our approach

Viruses have evolved sophisticated strategies to suppress host immunity. By studying these mechanisms, we seek to uncover the molecular principles that govern how cells detect and defend against viral infection.

Because the same host pathways antagonized by viruses are frequently dysregulated in inflammatory, immune, and degenerative disease, understanding how viruses subvert host biology reveals not only the molecular basis of virus–host conflict, but also a blueprint for therapeutically targeting pathways central to cellular homeostasis.
